The LG Action Sports World Championships Heads to Dallas

The LG Action Sports World Championships, the season-ending World Championships for the booming world of action sports, heads to the land of cowboy boots and big belt buckles, October 27-29, 2006, at Reunion Arena in downtown Dallas. The World Championship event will become the largest action sports event ever held in Dallas. More than 250 of the world's best athletes in skateboarding, BMX and inline skating will come together to compete for the chance to earn some of the $650,000 in cash and prizes - the largest per sport prize purse in action sports history.

Athletes will qualify for the event based on their results from the 2006 competition season.

The action-packed event will not only feature six elite competitions, but also big-name music entertainment over a 3-day period. National recording artist DISTURBED will headline the main stage on Saturday night.
The LG Action Sports World Championships will be televised nationally via prime time weekend programming on CBS, with additional coverage through Outdoor Life Network (OLN) and TV distribution to over 140 countries worldwide.

Eye Candy™ will be positioning their giant outdoor broadcast screen in The West End Historical District which is a nationally recognized entertainment district and major tourism anchor for the City of Dallas, attracting seven million people annually.

It is a pedestrian-oriented commercial neighborhood, featuring an emerging housing market in and around the district. Projections include 600+ housing units within walking distance to the district.

Hub transportation services, including the Bus Transfer station, the DART Light Rail, and a pending expansion of the McKinney Avenue Trolley to the West End. The DART Light Rail West End Station accounts for an average of nearly 20% of the total alighting, peaking on weekends.
