For many American families, the sight of high-speed aircraft jetting in tight formation against a bright blue sky is as exciting as fireworks on the Fourth of July. That's why air shows, known for their family-friendly spirit, draw up to 18 million spectators annually.

THE MCAS, MIRAMAR AIR SHOW

Last year’s Miramar Air Show was unfortunately cancelled due to the tragic events of Sept. 11, but this year it is back in full force to display America’s finest aviation capabilities.

This year’s theme is “A Salute to the Flying Leathernecks,” honoring Marine aviators of the past who have paved the way for future generations through their steadfast, unselfish commitment to duty. The ability of the USA today to provide combat-ready, expeditionary aviation forces capable of short-notice; worldwide deployment is a direct reflection of these great service members’ sacrifices.

Scheduled performing aircraft will range from civilian aerial acrobatics to the Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration and the world famous Blue Angels, the Navy’s precision flying team. Also featured are The F-14 TOMCATS, AV-8B HARRIER, F-117 NIGHTHAWK, B-1B BOMBER, F-15 EAGLES, F-16 FIGHTING FALCON, THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS as well as many others.

These and other scheduled displays as well as a host of family friendly events make the MCAS Miramar annual Air Show a favorite American event.

SREEN LOCATION

The eye candy screen will be located in front of the main grandstand and blanket seating area. This is where a vast majority of the air show attendants will ‘set up camp’ for the day. As the screen will be at the air show for the first time ever it will play a fundamental role in air show coordination, thus creating a totally captive audience throughout the event.
