This is the season!
The holidays are approaching which means that chestnuts will be roasting, lights will be twinkling and carolers will be singing but more importantly everybody will be shopping! Christmas and New Year’s mark the busiest retail shopping period of the year. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, chances are you’ve made someone’s list. While trying to find that perfect gift, the big apple will be flooded with New Yorkers running in and out of Penn Station crossing paths with one of New York’s greatest venue, Madison Square Garden, the world’s most famous arena. Attached to the Garden of Dreams comes the central outdoor source of finding information on the hottest products and services for the holiday season; a 40 square meter screen in full color and motion. What better way to get ideas for your Christmas list then visually seeing them on your way into work?
Eye Candy has been working closely with the organizers of the screen. Between the period of December 17th and January 1st the screen will be viewed by approximately 1.5 million people per day, consisting of pedestrians passing by, commuters getting on and off Penn station and drivers driving past. Not to mention, the screen is positioned right in front of the 125-year-old venue, Madison Square Garden which can hold up to 19,763 people who attend sporting events like the Knicks and Rangers games as well as concert events such as the upcoming Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
In total, approximately 24 million people will see the screen and catch a glimpse of its content during this 16 day period.
In addition, to New Yorkers seeing the screen, family and friends will be traveling worldwide to greet loved ones and enjoy the festivities, often leaving them no choice but to stroll passed the MSG screen.
As mentioned before, the MSG screen will display sport content and information on upcoming events. In addition, Eye Candy will be airing advertising packages consisting of 320 x 15 second commercial spots. Companies will finally have the chance to display their goods and services for millions to see during the busiest time of the year.
