“HOME OF ST. PATRICK”, DUBLIN, IRELAND

Cead mile failte... A hundred thousand Welcomes...

St. Patrick’s Day, is Ireland’s biggest national holiday.
It marks the anniversary of the death of the missionary who became the Patron Saint of Ireland. Through time St. Patrick’s has become the day the whole world is IRISH …or wishes it was!

Every continent in some way holds celebrations. Parades take place in cities such as London, Paris, Rome, Moscow, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and throughout Australasia and the Americas. The three largest parades of recent years have been held in New York, Birmingham and of course DUBLIN.

Because of St. Patrick’s patronage, the celebrations in Dublin have been extended to a week long event called St. Patrick’s Festival, encompassing a spectacular fireworks display, treasure hunt, funfair, open air music and dancing, theatre and of course the traditional parade on the 17th of March.

The Eye Candy screen will be running 13 hours per day during the St. Patrick’s Week.

The citizens of Dublin and tourists alike will be better informed about the many events and facets of Dublin’s greatest holiday week.
