St. Patrick’s Day, is Ireland’s biggest national holiday

Eye Candy has positioned a giant screen in Dublin’s famous Temple Bar Square during the city’s famous St. Patrick’s festival. The screen’s position allows maximum exposure and optimal viewing within Temple Bar Square which is the undoubted hub of the entire area. The square is fed by 6 busy pedestrian streets including the landmark Hal’penny Bridge which is the busiest pedestrian link between the north and south of the city.

Dublin & Temple Bar

Dublin City centre is a hugely successful commercial area that services a quarter of the countries population in a very compact area. Unlike other countries, Ireland has strict planning laws which have made out of town giant warehouse shopping units illegal.

This has had the desired impact of making the city busier than ever. The city is divided by the river Liffey which is nestled on the south side by Temple Bar, a 28 acre cultural, historic and small business neighbourhood. Aside from being Dublin’s most famous quarter it is said that Temple Bar never sleeps. From 8am to the small hours the area teems with people attracted to the atmosphere and unique cross section of shopping, cultural and social activities that includes 4 separate weekly outdoor markets and the city’s busiest social amenities.

St. Patrick’s Week

It marks the anniversary of the death of the missionary who became the Patron Saint of Ireland. Through time St. Patrick’s has become the day the whole world is IRISH …or wishes it was!

Without any doubt this is the most famous and busiest single event in the Dublin annual calendar and because of St Patrick’s patronage, the celebrations in Dublin have been extended to a week long event called St Patrick’s Festival.

The entire city becomes infected with the spirit of the festival which has grown to encompass a huge range of events from the famous parade on the 17th Match to a city centre fairground, huge fireworks display and myriad themed events through out the city all enjoyed by over 1.2 million viewers.

Eye Candy Exposure

The giant screen presence will promote Eye Candy clients in a spectacular multimedia format to the festival attendees, the local businesses together with the everyday pedestrian traffic in Temple Bar. This presence is invaluable in today’s fast moving brand environment.
